Garcelle Beauvais born in St. Marc, Haiti in 1966. At six years, after her parents divorced, her mother moved her and her six siblings to the United States.
At the age of 17, Beauvais moved to New York City to pursue a modeling career. She signed with Ford Models and Irene Marie Models in Miami. She modeled print ads for Avon, Mary Kay, and Clairol. She also appeared in catalogs for Lerner New York, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom. She walked the runway for Calvin Klein and Isaac Mizrahi, and appeared in Essence, Ebony, Jet. She even posed for Playboy's August issue in 2007.
Garcelle is best known for her role as Francesca "Fancy" on the television sitcom, The Jamie Foxx Show, which ran from 1996 to 2001.
In 2008, she launched a children's jewelry line called Petit Bijou. In 2013 she published a children's book, I am Mixed, and also received an Honorary Award from MPAH Haiti Movie Awards.
