Emeline Michel released her new video for 'Timoun' "Children".

The video, directed by, Abdias Laguerre, focuses on the children and sends the message that they are the future; specifically the future of Haiti

The message is sent with comic book like animations, beautiful scenic backgrounds and lots of dancing.

English lyrics:

Children what do you say shall we start over?
Stand up we have a country to put back together
It is our mother's land our father's wealth
We'll dare them to touch it
Children wake up and take a stand
Remember we have no choice we must go forward
We'll paint, we'll broom, we'll sprinkle water over the dust
We'll pick out the good grains from our winnowing trays

All this comes from love there is no worry (cannot hurt)
Let's get together, let's reconcile
The secret is in our union
Haiti is ours
Let's give it wings to fly
Let's huddle together to protect our ancestors' treasure

Children what do you say?
We must start over
Let's not go our separate ways
Do not blame
Stop preaching
Gather your strength to work
Be vigilant, many eyes are looking for a way to take advantage when we are divided
Let's build our fences, let's plant trees...protect the wealth of our children to enjoy in the future

Get up, get up, get up
Life does not go backward we must go forward children

Last night, Queen Emeline debuted and signed copies of her new CD, Quintessence.  The convention hall at the Karibe Hotel was packed with fans who came out to show their love and support and to get a little taste of Emeline's Quintessence.  We are familiar with her usual mix of Kompa, Rara, and Jazz but the new songs contained a noticeable Rock vibe which was a perfect addition.  Add the amazing singer James Germain and a surprised Rara band coming through the crowd, and it was a really amazing debut.

Go out and buy Emeline Michel's new CD, Quintessence.  I highly recommend it.  You will not be disappointed! #supportOurartist   #emelinelove #Quintessence

She was AMAZING!!  #pianorockout

My date for the evening, the wonderful Gessica Geneus

With the beautiful singer, songwriter, dancer, producer Emeline Michel

"Sitting at the border of time
I salute the return of a much brighter sun
My heart completely surrenders
To the mysteries and wonders of Eternity.
Far in the distance doubts and torments are drifting away.
A rainbow emerged at the end of my road."

Infini extrait de Quintessence - E.M 2012

Haiti Fashion Week started off with a Gala of all galas.  Everyone who was anyone was there.  It was an invite only affair, filled with dignitaries, and other honored guest.   Standing room ONLY!

The  Diva Emeline MICHEL, kicked off the evening, and the runway show.  Everyone was up at their feet.  The models, showed off fashions from earlier days.  There were pieces on the runway that were over 70 years old.  I was happy to hear that certain fashion houses, had people who preserved and archived many of these pieces.  It was amazing to see how 70 years later there were pieces that I wanted in my wardrobe right now, no scratch that, right away!

Each designer was asked to have their Muse model the best piece from their collect.  An instant tease, everyone is now looking forward to what's in store for the next three days!

For me the best part of the evening was that the night was dedicated to all the pioneers of the fashion game.  One of the first Haitian International models,  Faïmy Hakime received a plaque in honor of the trails she blazed.  Some other honorees were the first school of fashion in Haiti, and Michel CHATAIGNE for bringing an international standard to the world of cosmetology.

Great start to what looks like what will be a great event.

Stay tuned
