Born in Haiti, Bertrand left when he was 9 years old. At a young age, he learned to play Polo and fell in love with the sport, playing through high school and college. After a 10 year break, Bertrand got back into the sport in 2000, and started playing in a league at 2003.
In 2014 Sideline magazine named him Hot Horseman of the year in 2014.
As captain of Team Haiti polo team, he lead the team in winning their first trophy at last week's PoloSF, Inc and Audio Sports car Experience International Polo Tournament. They won by defeating the U.S. team with a score of 6 to 2.

*In the 1920's and 30's, Haiti was known for holding, and having the best in its territory for polo matches.
