In Plein controversy. Philipp Plein Spring 2014 ad campaign

On the other side of “The great debate” that is diversity on the runways, for certain lies Philipp Plein.  The German designer has always created buzz by doing things considered not so conventional.  He’s done it again by casting all black models for his line’s spring/summer 2014 ad campaign.

The campaign was shot in Milan by photographer Francesco Carrozzini.  The group of models looked like a very chic and cool gang of kids, dressed in rich and embellished outfits.  The ad was shot in an industrial setting and entirely in black and white, a point I’m sure, well calculated for even more impact.

The A/W 2014-15 runway show was pretty diverse as well

with special appearance from Ms. Naomi Campbell herself.

And performance by Rita Ora, who Plein tiered skirt I must have!
