Last night at the Palms Residence Hotel, the organizers of Gout et Saveurs Lakay, held a press conference to launch the 5th edition of the festival.
Creator, Chef Stephan Berrouet Durand greeted the crowd of chefs, press, and foodies, and officially kicked off the event. The chef spoke of the journey to get Gout et Saveurs Lakay to the level that it is now; with 27 local chefs and 15 international chefs, and several venues taking part in the week long festival.
Chef Stephan took the time to call his partners; Johanne Buteau and Jean-Max Chauvet to the stage, and awarded them each with a thank you plaque as well as white coat, naming them honorary chefs.
Chef Stephan himself, also received a gift for all his hard work, an aged bottle of Barbancourt rhum from company Production Director; Alain Lafalaise.
But it wasnt until the chefs received their gifted cases of Barbancourt Rhum, did the party really got started.
Tonight rendezvous is 7pm at Karibe Hotel for the first event; Village Gourmand. For $50, guest will get to same food and cocktails from over 40 participating vendors and award winning chefs.
