Out Friday afternoon with a friend of mine visiting from New York. After lunching on the best fish in PAP, at Le Coin des Artistes, I receive a call from another friend telling me to meet her at The Irish Village.
Unbenounced to me a tea house was opening in Petion-Ville! It appeared I was the only one who hadn't heard! All the ladies who lunch, the men about town, and just about everyone with a sweet tooth was present for the grand opening of
Thés et Macarons.
Owner, Daura Dutour, did not disappoint with many tiny sweet confections being passed about with as much fluidity as the champagne that flowed.

Thés et Macarons turned out to be a little slice of heaven on earth!
The store, located on the upper level of Irish Village, carries teas from around the world and specializes in mini amuse-gueule. This is not the traditional English tea, but more of the French flair with macarons in flavors of citron and guava; and tiny terrine de saumon sandwiches. As amazing as the hot teas are, you must try the Sao Paulo iced tea.
The only letdown was finding out that I couldn't take some of those little delights home with me, for they will not be available until Wednesday :(
