Ok, so I realize that on Monday I gave you a recipe from the chronicles for Friday.  So we have to catch up.

Before that.  I have been getting a lot of feedback on my recent blogging, which I appreciate very much.  Keep the comments coming!  And by all means, sign up as followers.  I feel like i'm talking to myself out here.  Cyber space is really weird like that.  heeheehee
Yesterday, a friend of mine named Franckie told me it was ok if I deviated from the stylist point of view from time to time, but that I mustn't lose site of the fashion.

so Franckie, while writing this I am wearing a vintage gap 1969 denim skirt.  One I bought long ago in an improptue stop at a thirft store.  A striped tank top from J Crew, and black gucci flip flops...  NOW FOR THE GRUB!

Ok, so Saturday which was a Day 2.

It's usually the day that my housekeeper would go to the street market to get all of my fruits, vegetables and legumes.  I have like 1 onion, and a few cloves of garlic at best.  All of the sudden the house is full with quest who drop by, when I was just planning on throwing some scraps together and make myelf some brunch/lunch for myself.  Ta-da!!  I whip up some salmon croquettes; a recipe that I got from watching my friend Chantal make them for me every time i come to visit.  Thx Chan!

       Here's a simple recipe: http://thelifeandtimesofawanderingjew.blogspot.com/2012/04/salmon-patties-kosher-for-pessah.html

I paired this with some fresh string beans that I found at the bottom of my fridge about to be not so fresh.  I sauted them with onions and fresh garlic in some EVOO (extra virgin olive oil). Add seasoning to taste. (salt, pepper, even some obay if you like).  I also added some fresh thymes and rosmary (I actually planted a little herb garden in a window sill flower pot.).

Add a few fresh tomatoes (can use cherry tomatoes too), a little tomatoe paste.  Some warm water to help the tomatoe paste dissolve.  This will create a sauce that ended up being so awesome over the croquettes.  Cover for a few to make sure the string beans are well cooked.  * Not too too long because that will reduce the nutritional value of the beans.

Pour that sweet goodness over a croquette and ENJOY!

A funny story.  While I was giving the recipe to one of my guest, another overheard that the croquettes were made of salmon, declared, "But i usually hate salmon."  If you can get that reaction, then you done good! : )

bon appétit!
